Do I need Anki to use LockRecall?

No. You can create decks and cards directly in the app, or tap Try Sample Cards during onboarding to explore with a ready-made deck. Anki import is there if you already have a collection worth bringing over.

How do I get a card onto my Lock Screen?

Touch and hold your Lock Screen, tap Customise, choose the area below the clock, then add a LockRecall widget. There is a question widget and an answer widget — add both if you want to reveal answers without opening the app. Tapping the answer widget updates the pair together.

My iPhone can't find Anki

The connection needs four things at once:

• Anki Desktop is open on your computer — it cannot answer while closed.
• The free AnkiConnect add-on is installed, and Anki has been restarted since installing it.
• Your iPhone and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network. A VPN on either device will usually break this.
• The address and port in Settings match your computer. The default port is 8765.

Settings has a connection test that reports which step is failing.

Do I have to keep Anki running?

Only while importing. Your cards are saved on your iPhone afterwards, so the widget keeps working when your computer is asleep or offline.

What does Remove Ads Forever include?

It removes every ad from the app and unlocks all widget mascots and the custom theme at once. You will never be asked to watch a rewarded video again, because there is nothing left to earn.

I bought it but the ads are back

Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. This asks Apple whether the purchase is active on the Apple ID currently signed in — make sure it is the same one you bought with. The purchase is permanent and works on every device using that Apple ID.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase.

Where are my cards stored?

On your iPhone only. LockRecall has no account and no server, so we cannot see your decks even if we wanted to. The privacy policy covers this in full.
